A Frontier Between Worlds
Fronteira means frontier. Not a line that separates people, but a place where worlds meet. Born in the heart of Minas Gerais and brought to Europe, FRONTEIRA represents the meeting point between cultures, traditions and ways of seeing the world.
The Name
Why FRONTEIRA. The word is Portuguese for “frontier” - a threshold rather than a boundary. It captures the idea of two worlds meeting: Brazil’s artisanal cachaça tradition and a European audience discovering it for the first time.
The Connection
Brazil and Europe. FRONTEIRA Spirits is a premium Brazilian cachaça brand, imported and brought to Europe by K&V Mercantil GmbH, based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

The Purpose
Introducing another dimension of Brazilian spirits to European consumers - beyond the familiar, toward the distinctive character of Brazil’s native maturation woods.
The People Behind FRONTEIRA

Mattheus, Paula and Guilherme (left to right).
FRONTEIRA isn't run by a boardroom. It's what happens when people share an obsession with what Brazil has to offer - and a conviction that cachaça deserves far more credit than it gets. FRONTEIRA was founded by Guilherme and Mattheus, each bringing a different half of the story. Also fundamental to FRONTEIRA is Paula, who as Master Blender brings her expertise and passion for Brazilian spirits to shaping the brand's cachaças.
Guilherme Velloso
Engineer and business administrator with a Master's in Business Administration from Purdue University. He brings more than 40 years of professional experience at national and multinational companies in mining, steel and heavy equipment. He's a certified board member through the Instituto Brasileiro de Governança Corporativa (IBGC), a management consultant, an internationally trained and certified mediator (ICFML), and a certified coach (SBWCoaching/IBS).
His passion is for new aromas, flavors and the diversity of Brazil. With FRONTEIRA, he wants to bring different expressions of Brazilian cachaça to Europe and introduce that richness to a new audience.
Mattheus Mascarenhas Kuhn
Half-Brazilian, raised between two cultures and now based in Germany. Bachelor's in Economics from the University of Mannheim, Master's in Management from Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon. His career spans strategy consulting, investment banking and private equity - from M&A and valuations to strategy, transformation, and supporting companies and investments.
The connection to Brazil was always more than just where he's from. With FRONTEIRA, he wants to bring a piece of that world to Europe and show how diverse, high-quality and surprising Brazilian cachaça can be. Driven by entrepreneurship, good spirits, and the idea of connecting cultures.
Paula Oliveira - Master Blender
Master Blender and consultant in food and beverage, alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike. She brings technical and sensory expertise from the world of beverages - with a particular passion for spirits and the richness of Brazilian cachaça.
She's co-author of the book Mulheres da Cachaça: histórias de coragem, pertencimento e protagonismo feminino, which gathers the stories of women shaping production, research, communication, entrepreneurship and innovation in the world of cachaça.
Passionate about aromas, flavor and the culture of spirits, she sees cachaça as an expression of Brazilian diversity, tradition and knowledge.
Together with Paula, they set out to clear up a cliché: cachaça isn't just what goes into a caipirinha. Matured in native Brazilian woods - Amburana, Bálsamo, Jequitibá - alongside oak, it can be sipped slowly and taken every bit as seriously as a fine whisky, rum or cognac.
